Erxuan Li

Hi, I’m Erxuan, an MSc Computer Science student at ETH Zürich specializing in Machine Intelligence.

I work where machine learning meets systems: making large models run efficiently on real hardware. I’m currently a Machine Learning Engineer intern at Julius Bär, where I deploy and operate open-weight LLMs on an on-prem H200 GPU cluster. Before that, I wrote my bachelor’s thesis at Disney Research Studios on SDR-to-HDR video enhancement, fine-tuning video diffusion models on multi-GPU clusters. I’ve also competed for ETH at the ISC Student Cluster Competition and taught parallel programming as a teaching assistant.

My interest in computer science started in high school with Python, microcontrollers and robots (LEGO Mindstorms, NAO), and led to a school app that about 500 students ended up using. Parallel programming and HPC have fascinated me ever since.

Outside of computer science, you’ll find me on the basketball or badminton court, hiking or skiing in the Alps, or unwinding at the piano.
